Teslin® Sheets Travel into the Electronic Passport Market
As some 40 nations switch to electronic passports, PPG’s Teslin synthetic printing sheet is receiving significant international attention as a preferred supplier for these high-volume, high-security documents.
What is an electronic passport? Unlike a traditional passport, an 'e-passport' includes an embedded electronic chip and antenna. The chip stores basic personal information but also can include biometrics, such as iris scans and fingerprints. This information is electronically conveyed via the antenna when the e-passport is placed close to a special reading terminal.
